ReplyDeleteI love the sound of this soup, the creaminess of the base along with the smokey-ness from the bacon and tartness of the apple.I have often been afraid of the celery root (i must admit!) but i may just have to get over it and whip this up!
ReplyDeleteThe soup sounds amazing. What I really want to know is where did you get that spoon!?!!?? I have this overwhelming need to have one just like it.
ReplyDeletei often put diced celery root in soups, and sometimes i even use the green leaves for the soup, too. but i've never made a cream soup with it. i'll try this one.
ReplyDeleteThe spoon is from the Crate & Barrel outlet online, not sure if it's still available.
ReplyDeletecannot wait to try this with some homemade focaccia!

ReplyDeleteThis soup will serve my introduction to celery root and I can't wait to get started!
ReplyDeleteIf you slice the root lengthwise, dip it in egg, bread it and saute it in some oil you will be suprised how delicate and flavourful the result is
ReplyDeleteIt cannot succeed in actual fact, that is exactly what I think.
